Pampers continue their
party-crashing sprint to the head of Punk Rock USA’s slop table, this time with
a four-song EP that grafts “Teabag”-era Dwarves speed-rush onto their own
stellar form of blown-out, lysergic psych. “Seneca Road” is this record’s
version of their 2013 album’s “Purple Brain”, the lone three-minute topper
that’s all colors, lights and what sounds like 18 roaring guitars. Not one to
be pigeonholed, our Pampers, the song even references acid. “I feel light-headed, I feel good”.
My 51st show and my fact-checking is still riddled with errors, my show’s full of modulation mix-ups and my on-mic “persona” is about as pleasing to the ear as a friggin’ sack of cats. At least the music totallysmokes. Notwithstanding my error on Brian Eno’s first album – it’s called “Here Come The Warm Jets”,no der!– and the fact that some songs are mixed too low and some voices too high (that’s why Thomas Edison invented the volume knob for you), I’m excited to share with you some of the finest in raw, sub-underground rock and roll music from the past five decades.
There’s new archival stuff fromThe Klitz(turn it up)andThe BangsneeThe Bangles; there’s new 2014 songs fromPampers, White Fence, Men Oh Pause, Coneheads, Germ HouseandParkay Quarts; and a bunch of library stuff from many corners of our world:The Birthday Party, Bill Direen & The Bilders, Razar, The Coolies, Long Blondes, Modern Loversand so on and so forth. The purported theme of our podcast, magazine and blog is “raw and sub-underground rocknroll from the last five decades”. This new edition of DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO, #50, goes heavy on the first and most recent of those decades. Two blazing new tracks from the just-released 60s punk comp “Back From The Grave, Volume 9” make their 21st century online debuts here – and if that’s not reason enough to download or stream this thing, there’s new material from the likes of Parkay Quarts, The Coneheads, Le Skeleton, Germ House, Leggy, Honey Radar, Rakta, Sauna Youth, Bent, The Blind ShakeandPampers. Pampers! There’s a blown-out bootleg recording from the Velvet Underground, a little punk rock tomfoolery and all sorts of needless verbal blather from the host. In all, it’s 74 minutes you won’t ever get back – unless you play it a second time. Download Dynamite Hemorrhage Radio #50 here. Stream or download Dynamite Hemorrhage Radio #50 over on Soundcloud. Like I said on the podcast, it’s “wild” “freeform” radio, the likes of which haven’t been seen since the glory days of potsmoking, late-night FM DJs spinning Steely Dan next to some “Dark Side of the Moon” deep cuts. Trust me, this show is really almost that good.

Meet PAMPERS. They’re a NYC band who’ve got their first album coming out on In The Red, like, next week. The song you’re about to play by pressing the button above is called “Eruptions”, and it’s from a ridiculously limited 45 from 2011 on Jack Shack Records.
These fellas have the dangerous, off-kilter distorto-punk thing down, and may even be adding a new chapter themselves. Love this song, in any case. Looking forward to getting busy with that album next week.
I’m doing my best to crank out an hour of music for Dynamite Hemorrhage’s several dozen listeners every two weeks, and mission accomplished this time, withDYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO #23coming out just about two weeks to the day from the last one I recorded in Norway (!). This one was able to shoehorn 24 songs in a mere 1 hour, 2 minutes – that’s a lot of short, aggressive songs. As promised “on the air”, I’ll try and mellow out a bit next time.
This one showcases some new stuff fromSEX TIDE,RUBY PINS,THE AR-KAICSandFOSTER CARE, along with recent stuff fromPampersandDanny and the Darleans…..then there’s some good olde-tyme rocknroll fromThe Vidiots, Green on Red, Supercharger, Expando Brain, Liimanarinaand yes,The Fuckin’ Flyin’ A-Heads! Feel free to download it, stream it, and consume it however you see fit – and while you’re at it, how about trying some of the other 22 hour-long episodes as well? (scroll down – they’re all there).
